Kung Bore, Scandinavia's largest junior tournament was held last weekend in Örebro.
Skogshyddan had assembled a team of experienced and new juniors and was quite uncertain of their strength. A good test was provided for already in the first pool play when they faced Gothenburg rivals Raging Seagulls. A team that was seeded third in the tournament. Hyddan came out strong and never gave Seagulls a chance, case closed, 11-2 final score. Our juniors then continued and won their pool.
Then next pool play would be tougher as it would be all the first round pool winners playing each other. Again our juniors came out strong and won all their games and was now qualified for semi final on Sunday.
In the semi final they found themselves facing Raging Seagull again, this time the game was tighter at the start. Halfway through the game, Hyddan's deeper roster started to pay off and in the end it was a comfortable win, 11-5.
The final would be played against home team and number one seed, Örebro. The teams had played each other on Saturday with a Hyddan win, 11-8. The final was a close game and the teams would trade points for most of the game. In the end Hyddan would prove stronger and manged to pull away to a 13-8 win.
Next big tournament for this young and talented team will be the Swedish Championships in March.
